10 Questions to Ask Yourself About Your Oral Health

June is Oral Health Month, so it provides the team at Janet K. Song, DDS the opportunity to help promote great oral health for our community. Many people don’t realize the true impact your oral health has on your overall health. We’ve put together some questions for you to ask yourself that can help guide your oral health choices and help you reach your oral health goals.

  1. What are your oral health goals?

  2. How often do you brush your teeth?

  3. How often do you floss your teeth?

  4. Do you feel confident about your brushing/flossing technique?

  5. Are you happy with your teeth/smile?

  6. Do you have any ongoing dental pain?

  7. If you feel any dental discomfort, do you ignore it?

  8. How often do you visit your dentist?

  9. Do you have crooked, chipped, stained, or cracked teeth?

  10. Do you prioritize your oral health?

Dr. Song and Dr. Tran would love to work with you to set your oral health goals. This might include undergoing certain treatments to ensure your bite is corrected, or you get the right dental appliance to help with teeth grinding etc.

Our conveniently located dental office in Fairfax is easy to get to so you can get your teeth regularly checked throughout the year — we recommend at least twice a year. We will help you identify any dental issues before they get painful and customize your treatment to suit you.

While at home, our recommendations for maintaining good oral health are to:

  1. Brush and floss daily — ideally, after every meal if possible.

  2. Limit your sugar intake — added sugars can cause tooth decay.

  3. Quit smoking – this habit is extremely detrimental to your oral health and can cause tooth loss and mouth cancer.

Schedule your next appointment with our dental team in Fairfax today. A consultation with Dr. Song or Dr. Tran can outline what the best steps are to take care of your teeth. The team is also trained to help anyone suffering from anxiety about visiting the dentist, and provide them with a comfortable and compassionate experience at our dental practice — please pass on our details to anyone who needs help with their oral health.
